When I was 13 years old, I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and had corrective surgery placing 2 metal rods in my back. I didn’t realize how much this would affect my life’s path. Over the next few years I had to learn how to strengthen my back and my core to keep maximum mobility and flexibility. This journey of self discipline and self education led me to take a deeper look at the core of what I needed to really feel good in my body. What I found to be true for me, fueled my passion to learn more about my misconceived understanding of being fit and what “overall health” really means. In 2010, when I set my mind to losing weight and getting fit, I dropped from a size 9 to a size 2 in 30 days, only reflecting 5 lbs of weight loss on the scale (yes toss the scale, it's not a true measurement of success.) But the best part was the changes I noticed in my stress levels, energy, sleep, and overall joy about life! I kept this lifestyle for several years, but always had a deep yearning to learn more. In 2014, I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I received my training and certificate to be a health coach. I learned how to keep the weight off...the healthy way! This was no fad diet. No yo-yo results, on and off the wagon at every new year's resolution. No, this was a lifestyle change.
Currently, my focus and passion is working with individuals who lead a busy lifestyle and find themselves at the end of the day stressed out, tired, and uninspired to eat healthy. I work with men and women who are tired of standing in front of their closet and trying on 10 different things before finding something they feel comfortable in.
